MASK (Mobile Art School in Kenya): unleashing creativity in young people for socio-economic development
A nation’s development is depended on the creative skills of its people.
Creative and innovative people can create opportunity and change; become visionary leaders and entrepreneurs.
Yet, creative education is either limited or absent in East African schools, and accordingly, the creative resource of almost 100 million of young people remains under-utilised.
Research shows that if creativity is not fostered, it diminishes from 98% when a child is 5, to 2% when he reaches age of 25. Since 2006, MASK has provided children with non-formal creative education in 20 schools in Kenya, benefiting 25,000 young people.
MASK is affiliated with InSEA (International Society of Education through Arts) that is member of UNESCO
